AN EVENT- FULL HALF TERM AT NATIONAL MUSEUM CARDIFF

School’s out for a week but there’s plenty of events, activities and exhibitions on at National Museum Cardiff to keep the kids happy this half term 27 October – 2 November whatever your interest, from art, archaeology, natural history to geology – and admission is free!

 

Where can you see a cheese-loving mouse detective, a teddy with super-powers and the bravest fireman in Wales? Join us and some of your favourite characters celebrate the launch of Wales Animation exhibition with a day of activities for the whole family on 27 October, 11am-4pm. Wales has been at the heart of animation for close to a century. From Jerry the Tyke and SuperTed to Fireman Sam and Rastamouse, Welsh animation is known throughout the world.

Discover the wild side of your pet dog or cat in the Tame Tigers & Well-behaved wolves family workshops, 27 Oct–2 Nov, 11.30am, 1.30 & 3.30pm. Did you know that our four-legged best friend is essentially a wolf! The workshops accompany the new The Wolf Inside exhibition which tells the history of domesticated farm animals and pets.Ever wondered about the ancestors of your pet dog? Ever wondered why cows are different colours or why there are so many different kinds of sheep? The exhibition aims to answer some of these every day questions!

To celebrate Big Draw week, explore different drawing techniques as you explore some of the work in the Artes Mundi exhibition and create your own works of art. 30 October – 2 November, 11am, 1pm & 3pm.
