Free Opportunity for Primary School Teachers at the National Wool Museum

On Friday 12 July a free of charge workshop by Mererid Hopwood for primary school teachers will be held at the NationalWoolMuseum.

The workshop, ‘Gwlân a Geiriau Mân’ will discuss creative ways for pupils and teachers to explore and enjoy the Museum by finding ways to use the story of the woollen industry as a starting point for creative writing sessions in the classroom.

After a tour around the Museum the day will focus on some of the experiences within the Museum, from sheep to fabric and the sounds of the historic machinery, to explore a variety of writing skills.

Practical ideas for lessons will be shared, to help pupils develop their voice on paper and the course will provide learning opportunities through Literacy, Heritage and Creativity.

The course will start at 10am until 3pm. The course is free with limited spaces. Therefore please place your booking as soon as possible by contacting Joanna Thomas, National Wool Museum Learning Officer on Joanna.thomas@museumwales.ac.uk or by telephone on 02920 573070.
