National Waterfront Museum Expands Conferencing Facilities

Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum is holding a launch event for its new conferencing facility overlooking the city’s Marina.

The Ocean Room will officially open on 28 November and event organisers from throughout Swansea and Neath Port Talbot are invited to view the venue, enjoy a free lunch and access exclusive discounts for future bookings.

The Ocean Room, which is situated on the ground floor of the National Waterfront Museum can accommodate up to 120 delegates for conferences, meeting and events. The opening of the facility has more than doubled the Museum’s current conferencing capabilities. Event organisers are being invited to attend the drop-in lunch between 12pm-2pm on Thursday 28 November.

A spokesperson for the Museum comments: “The opening of the Ocean Room as a conference venue marks an exciting development for the Museum. While we are able to cater for much larger groups for weddings, dinners and proms within our galleries, our conferencing facilities have been limited to cater for up to 60 people until now.

"In response to customer demand we have developed the Ocean Room and we’re looking forward to welcoming businesses, community groups and other organisations to view the facility on the 28 November."

The Ocean Room is available for daytime or evening bookings and is perfect for dinners of up to 80 people, training days, conferences, drinks receptions and meetings. Specialist heritage caterers, Elior, provide catering within the Ocean Room.

By hiring a room at the National Waterfront Museum, companies and organisations are supporting Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales as a registered charity.
