EUROPE'S largest competitive youth festival is on its way to Swansea and Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales will be there with fun activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.

As part of celebrations surrounding International Biodiversity Day 2011, National Museum Cardiff will be hosting a day of natural history activities for the whole family on Saturday 21 May, 10am-4pm.

A week of Lunchtime Conversations at this year’s Hay Festival of Literature and Arts will welcome the public to join in a series of lively informed debates. Hanes Cymru-History Wales, a partnership of Wales’s leading heritage organisations, will provide a platform for expert speakers from the heritage, arts and university sectors to discuss, question and celebrate history in modern Wales. Topics will include cultural tourism, economic regeneration and science teaching in Wales.

The Harry Potter themed event will come alive with magical science experiments, a spell trail around the galleries, magician fun as well as a visit from two feathery friends from the Welsh Hawking Centre - a European Owl, the same breed as Harry’s very own Hedwig, and a baby Snowy Owl.
