Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales's Open Meeting of the Board of Trustees,

Members of the public who are interested in the work of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales, are invited to observe the Museum’s quarterly board meeting in the Court Room, National Museum Cardiff on Thursday, 4 October 2012 from 10.30am-12.30pm. There will be an opportunity to meet with the Board and Executive afterwards.

Ms Janice Lane has this month joined Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales as its new Director of Learning, Exhibitions and New Media.

Artes Mundi 5 is delighted to announce further details about the 2012 exhibition, including new works created especially for this year’s edition by shortlisted artists Miriam Bäckström, Tania Bruguera, Darius Mikšys and Apolonija Šušterši?, as well as a range of additional works by shortlisted artists, Phil Collins, Sheela Gowda and Teresa Margolles. Artes Mundi 5 will also feature a strong programme of artist performances and participatory events which represents a major new focus for this year’s exhibition and prize.

Storm clouds lift over Turner paintings at National Museum Cardiff

For the first time ever, visitors to National Museum Cardiff will be able to see Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales’ seven oil paintings by one of Britain’s most celebrated artists, JMW Turner (1775-1851) displayed together, at a new exhibition which opens on Tuesday, 25 September 2012.

Come Draw with Me! and with five acclaimed artists at National Museum Cardiff

This autumn there will be an opportunity to join five acclaimed artists for a unique  drawing event at National Museum Cardiff on 8 November, 6.00-8.30pm. Join Brendan Stuart Burns, Laura Ford, Marega Palser, Stephen West and Sue Williams for an evening in the inspirational surroundings of the Impressionist and Modern Art galleries of National Museum Cardiff. The ticket price is £25, including materials and refreshments.
