Observing the Partial Solar Eclipse at National Museum Cardiff

Don’t miss a rare opportunity to see a partial eclipse of the Sun, visible in Cardiff on Friday 20 March. Cardiff University, Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum of Wales and the Institute of Physics are teaming up to ensure you can watch this wonderful phenomenon safely, with experts on hand. There are also a series of talks at National Museum Cardiff on Thursday 19 March to celebrate the event.

Local marketer scoops national award for marketing excellence

Marie Szymonski, Marketing & Communications Officer at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea has recently been awarded Museums Marketing Champion of the Year at a prestigious awards event in the National Library of Wales.

The Marketing Excellence Awards recognise the fantastic work being done by staff in museums, archives and libraries across Wales, often with very limited resources.

Life saving measures for National Museum Wales sites

Life-saving defibrillators have been installed at all seven of Wales’ National Museums to safeguard both the staff and the 1.6 million people (on average) who visit each year. The defibrillators have been placed at all museums and staff at each museum have been trained on how to use the lifesaving equipment.
