Welsh culture comes to life at the Waterfront this weekend

This weekend the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea will come alive to mark St David’s Day with a packed programme featuring daffodils and dragons, live folk music and a traditional twmpath.

The St David’s Day Party will take place on Saturday 5 March from 12pm to 8pm.

The world-renowned exhibition, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, will open at National Museum Cardiff on 27 February until 24 April 2016, featuring 100 awe-inspiring images, from fascinating animal behaviour to breath-taking wild landscapes.

Players of People’s Postcode Lottery boost their support for Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales with an extra £25,000

Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales is delighted to announce that players of People’s Postcode Lottery have awarded an extra £1.425 million to long-term supported charities. Amgueddfa Cymru is one of 57 charities that will receive the extra £25,000 award from players of the charity lottery.

Britain’s First Astronaut wows crowds at Waterfront

British scientist and astronaut Helen Sharman (OBE) recently wowed crowds at the National Waterfront Museum as she took to the stage to present a fascinating talk all about her first encounters of space.

The sell-out event took place on Saturday 30 January where Helen shared some of her first-hand experiences in front of a live packed audience.

Waterfront celebrates Year of the Monkey

Chinese New Year will soon be here and the National Waterfront Museum is once again helping the Swansea Chinese Community Co-op Centre with its exciting plans for the celebrations.

2016 welcomes the Year of the Monkey and visitors are encouraged to join in the festivities with a day of music, workshops and performances for all the family this Sunday, 7 February from 11am-4.30pm.

he oldest Jurassic dinosaur in the UK is formally named and described in a paper published this week
