Event: Summer of Fun 2022- Roman Legion Museum
Come over and visit the Roman Legion Museum this Summer and take part in some of the workshops and performances we have on offer as part of the Summer of Fun Festival. This festival has been organised as part of the Summer of Fun initiative which is funded by the Welsh Government.
Life in the Roman Legion
Drop in sessions every Monday and Saturday from 1st - 29th of August, 11am-1pm & 2-4pm
Almost 2000 years ago the Fortress of Isca (Caerleon) played a big part in the north-western frontier of the Roman Empire. Why not pop in to meet one of our soldiers from the Second Augustan Legion? They will show you some of their armour, weapons and military equipment as well as telling you about life for a Roman soldier on the edge of the empire.

Toxic Romans
Thursday drop in sessions from the 4th-25th August, 11am-1pm & 2-4pm
What have the Romans ever done for us? We often reel off lists of accomplishments like aqueducts, public baths, roads and education, but the Roman Empire also had a downside. Some of what they did was definitely not environmentally – or human – friendly. Come to this drop-in session to find out more about toxic Romans.
