Christmas Trail

Get into the festive spirit with your family this year and join in with some Christmas fun at any of our National Museums with our Christmas Trail.

Hidden around the museum are eight different Christmas characters. Can you find them all and answer the questions about them?

What do I get?

  • You’ll get an A4 trail to find the characters around the museum.
  • When you have finished your trail, you can take it home to make the craft on the back.
  • You can then enter the URL into your web browser to get access to an e-booklet. This will have children’s Christmas craft and food videos to make at home, quizzes and a short film from the curators about the objects in the museum’s collections connected to Christmas.

Where do I get the trail?

  • You can buy the trail from the entrance on arrival at the museum

  • To be sustainable we have made some of the characters from eco-friendly display materials and will use these again. We have also added an activity to the trail so you can reuse it. If you don’t want to make the craft, please recycle your trail at home.
  • As part of the museum's measures against Covid, please do not touch the character boards.
  • There are a limited number of trails available.
  • The last entry will be one hour before the museum closes to give you time to complete your trail.
