Photography exhibition gives different view of the slate landscape!
In 2021 the Slate Landscape of North-West Wales was awarded World Heritage Status!
Images of the astounding beauty of the area were sent around the world – stunning aerial shots of the quarries, giant slate mountains created by the quarrymen and the beauty of the relics left behind such as the barracks and machinery.
This exhibition results from a competition - jointly organised by Wales Slate and the National Slate Museum - earlier this year to find different images of the slate designation and some of the sights and scenes that people are less familiar which reflect a different, unique or unusual view.
We received over 200 photographs to represent three themes:
- Monumental - reflecting the awe-inspiring and extraordinary nature of the slate landscape
- Innovative – showing the trail-blazing nature of the industry
- Community – capturing people and places which make the slate communities special
This exhibition is an opportunity for you to enjoy the photographs selected by the judging panel.
