Research Interests

Paul Cabuts completed his PhD at the European Centre for Photographic Research where he examined the factors shaping the development of the photographic arts in Wales during the second-half of the twentieth century.  Projects include examining the influence of the American photographer W. Eugene Smith on photography in Wales.  Interested in the intersection between photography and art, he has examined the photographic work made in Wales by the British artist John Piper.  Cabuts, as a photographer with works exhibited and published in Wales, the United Kingdom and beyond, is interested in the symbiotic relationship between research and practice.
