Course: Course: Introduction to Enamelling

This workshop is an introduction to the traditional craft of enamelling – but with a playful, contemporary edge. Local artist Sophie Buckingham will help you explore mark making techniques using stencils, scraffito and embellishments. You will experiment with pattern and colour through the medium of kiln fired vitreous enamel on copper.

This fun, relaxed day is suitable for the complete beginner - all equipment and materials will be supplied.

The price of this course includes parking, all materials and light refreshments. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit our one of our cafes. Collect your parking pass 10am onwards at our main visitor entrance. Your course will start at 10.30am in in the inspirational setting of Gweithdy, the Museum’s brand new workshop and gallery celebrating the skills of makers past and present.

Language: This course will be held in English but we are happy to provide simultaneous translation if you would like to take part in Welsh. Please choose a ticket in your language of choice, making sure you have one ticket for each person. Please book your tickets at least one week before the event.

Concession eligibility: unwaged, over 60s, anyone in full-time education with NUS card, disabled people.
