Ceramics and Illustration students from Cardiff School of Art and Design are collaborating on a unique workshop designed to encourage exploration of the history of objects at the Museum and to enable visitors to create their very own ‘St Fagans artefact’ using clay dug from the museum site.

The workshop will include an illustrators’ ‘walk and draw’ through some of the historic buildings and these images will be used to inspire the creation of new ‘St Fagans artifacts’ quite literally formed from the earth that lies beneath your feet!

As the workshops take place, students will also be constructing an outside kiln based on Roman design and presenting the opportunity for the new ‘St Fagans artifacts’ to be fired as part of Heritage Craft Festival on May 27.

Workshops will be held at 11, 1 and 3 and will last about an hour. Spaces must be booked, and can be done so at the cockpit upon arrival.
