The sea has played an important part in the lives of thousands of Welsh people over the years and none more so than in Monmouthshire which has a proud fishing past that has ensured a plentiful supply of fish for its inhabitants over the centuries.  Along with the coracle, which was once a common sight in Monmouthshire, and other fishing objects, the Blackrock Lave Netsmen of the Severn Estuary and others will show why this region played a significance role in the history of Welsh fishing and heritage.

Try your hand at netmaking, take a closer look at a coracle and dip your hand into the Netmakers’ tanks to see what you can find.

Part of 2018 Year of the Sea.
