This event has been cancelled due to general concerns over crowds and Coronavirus. Apologies for the inconvenience but the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers are our priority.

Our oceans and beaches are being drowned in plastic waste, come and learn how to reuse some of this material in this exciting coil basket workshop.

Working under the guidance of artist Nina Brabbins, you will learn the basic process of coil basketry using plastic ropes collected from UK beaches. Using natural yarns, you will learn at least one basic stitch to create a small bowl, or place mat of your own design.

All materials and equipment will be provided, however you might want to bring your own scissors and thimble (but don’t worry you haven’t). If you have any plastic waste you would like to include, bring it along to see how it could be incorporated.
