Explore Volunteer, National Slate Museum

Closing date: 31 December 2019 (by 5pm)

Purpose of role: to assist and welcome visitors to the Museum. The National Slate Museum is sited in the Victorian workshops built in the shadow of Elidir Mountain, site of the vast Dinorwig quarry. Here you can travel into the past of an industry and a way of life that has chiselled itself into the very being of this country. We are looking for volunteers to help our staff to welcome visitors to this unique museum.

How to get involved

Firstly, make sure you have a good read of the Information Sheet to see whether this of interest to you. Before you register, please think carefully about:

  • your reasons for wanting to volunteer
  • how volunteering will fit with your other commitments.

Once you have found a volunteer role that best suits your skills and interests, please complete the Registration Form.

Please email your Registration form to volunteering@museumwales.ac.uk or post to Volunteer Department, National Museum Cardiff, Cathays Park, Cardiff CF10 3NP.

Due to the high demand for volunteering opportunities, we cannot guarantee your placement, however we do ensure that all applications are treated equally and will be submitted for consideration. You will receive a response via email to let you know if you have been selected for the role or not (If you do not have an email address, please provide us with a postal address and telephone number) and you may be invited in for an informal meeting.
