This one-day course is a chance to try your hand at traditional techniques to mend both knitted and woven fabrics. Breathe new life into your wardrobe as you stitch some love into your worn out favourites. Under the guidance of lecturer, researcher and maker Angela Maddock you’ll gain the skills to make your own unique slow fashion statement.

The day will cover woven and swiss darning, as well as decorative stitching techniques for textile repairs. There’ll also be a chance to get inspired by mended textiles from our collections. This fun, relaxed course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience of textile craft.

The price of your ticket includes all materials and equipment required for the day but please bring along something knitted or woven that is holed, worn or threadbare for repair.
