This course will provide an introduction on how to choose flowers and ornamental grasses for drying, and the best way to grow them.   
You will also learn how to dry flowers following a natural air-drying method and will have the opportunity to harvest plants that are sustainably grown in the St. Fagans Castle Garden.


Your course provider Luciana, a Garden Conservator at St. Fagans, will then demonstrate how to create beautiful, dried flower arrangements, and you will be able to take your own bouquet home.  

The course will be held in the St. Fagans Castle garden & Gweithdy Workshop, please note that the garden and Gweithdy are a 10-minute walk from the main entrance in opposite directions. The course fee includes all materials. 
 

You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit our on-site catering facilities. We can offer a 10% discount to course participants in our catering outlets* on production of your ticket. *(excludes Derwen Bakehouse)

Parking

Please park in the visitor car park, a charge of £6 per car applies and can be paid by cash or card. 

Language: This course will be held in the first language of the facilitator - which is English. 

Accessibility: Some of the Museum's learning spaces are up to 5 minute walk from the main building and carpark – please contact events@museumwales.ac.uk prior to booking to discuss any accessibility requirements. 

Concession eligibility: Students with NUS or those in receipt of benefits. Over 60’s, Under 18’s* (16-18 year olds must be accompanied by a participating adult)

Opening Hours

From 4 November until 28 February 2025, we will be open 10am-4pm every day.

Christmas and New Year: Closed from 2pm on 23 December. Closed 24 - 26 and 1 January. 

Closed 8 January 2025 for staff training. 

Parking

If you are driving to St Fagans, you will have to pay for parking. The cost is £7 per day and can be paid by cash or card. FREE for disabled badge holders and motorbikes. £30 yearly ticket in advance. This charge is for parking only – entry to the Museum remains free.

  • Our cafes and restaurant will be open during your visit. 
  • The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
