Cardiff has its own Airport but not many planes fly there directly. It can be just as easy to fly direct to Gatwick or Heathrow and get the train to Cardiff. All of the airports have hire cars available.

Travelling by train

Cardiff has a good network of trains and is a relaxing way to travel, though not always the cheapest. For longer journeys e.g. to London, Bristol or Bath try to pre-book tickets for the best prices. Pre-booked tickets can be picked up at booths at most of the major stations. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ has all of the train times and fares. Tickets are then bought from other providers. All of the different train companies can sell tickets for any of the train routes. If in doubt about how the various tickets work contact the Committee for advice.

Driving

The main access route through South Wales is the M4. Cardiff City centre can be reached from junction 33. See www.wmc.org.uk for detailed directions to the Conference centre.

Travelling over the Severn Bridge on the M4 from England currently costs £6.20.
