The Recipe
You will need
- two pounds gooseberries
- eight cupfuls cold water
- seven pounds sugar
Method
- Pour the water over the gooseberries and boil for half an hour.
- Add the sugar and boil for a further twenty minutes.
- Leave to cool slightly before pouring it into pots.
- Cover each pot while the jam is warm.
