The Recipe
You will need
- one pound plain flour
- a little baking powder
- one teaspoonful salt
- half a tablespoon caraway seeds
- one ounce sugar
- two and a half ounces butter
- one egg
- quarter pint milk
Method
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl, rub in the butter and add the other dry ingredients.
- Beat the egg and milk together and gradually pour into the dry ingredients, mixing well to make a light dough.
- Put this dough into a greased tin and bake in a moderately hot oven for approximately one hour.
