The Recipe
You will need
- a thick slice of bread
- boiling water
- a knob of butter
- salt and pepper
Method
- Put the bread in a bowl and cover with boiling water.
- Lift out the bread and squeeze the excess water out of it.
- Put the sodden bread in another bowl, work the butter into it and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Pack the mixture tightly in a cup and then turn out on a plate.
- Serve while warm.
