The Recipe
You will need
- two quarts dandelion flowers
- four quarts water
- three oranges, sliced
- three lemons, sliced
- two pounds sugar cubes
- half an ounce yeast spread over a piece of toast
Method
- Cover the flowers and the fruit with the water and boil for forty minutes.
- Then strain through muslin.
- Boil the liquid again for about half an hour and then add the sugar.
- Pour the liquid into a large pan and when cool add the yeast.
- Leave to ferment for three days.
- Strain, bottle and leave to mature for two months before using.
