Carers

Carers Rights Day

Are you one of the 400,000 adult or young carers in Wales? Or have you been a carer in the past? If so, we want to hear from you.

On Thursday 26 November 2020, Carers Rights Day, we are holding an online event for carers:

  • launching our carers survey which will remain open until 17 December.
  • sharing short online ‘tasters’ from recent events, available to view until 10 December.
  • hosting a live discussion to seek the views of carers.

Full details and links to all of these below.

Carers Survey

Our survey sets out some of our current thinking on what opportunities we may be able to offer carers and how we may do it. We’re very keen to hear other ideas from carers or former carers, and to be guided by you as to which areas of work we should prioritise first.

Thank you to everyone who has responded to our carers survey. We greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts.

We will report back on the main themes and our plans going forward by the end of January 2021.

The survey is now closed but we’d still welcome any comments or questions on how we can welcome and support carers via email to: volunteering@museumwales.ac.uk

Online Event & Tasters

You may not be aware of how wide a range of activities and events that we currently run. We have set up a Facebook event you can join and throughout the day on 26 November we’ll be sharing short bite-size examples of what our museums do for you to watch or try out. These will remain available for two weeks until 10 December.

Live Discussion on Thursday 26 November

We are hosting a live online discussion where you can ask us questions and also share any ideas you may have. This is open to all carers or former carers, you can stay for as long or short a time as you like. As a small thank you for finding the time to come and talk to us, every person attending will receive a free ticket to one of our online events.

To join us or to find out more details about how it will run, please go to the Eventbrite link which has full details. You will need to book a free Eventbrite ticket to attend. There are tickets available for participation in English or in Welsh (we need to know a few days in advance if anyone has booked a Welsh language ticket so we can confirm the interpreter).
