This cross was in a farmyard in Castle Gough estate until it was moved between 1870 to 1875 to the rectory garden where this photograph was presumably taken. The cross head was noted in 1891, but not mentioned after 1896, suggesting that it was removed by that date. The inscription is 5th or 6th century, but its modified later cross-form maybe 11th century.
