To celebrate 20 years of the Spring Bulbs for Schools Project we hosted four virtual workshops that explored painting, climate change, the industrial revolution, and much more! Recordings of each session can be found below, along with any additional resources needed.
Sessions are aimed at Progression Step 3 pupils (8-11). Details of each session can be found below.

Session 1 |Draw Like an Artist, Think Like a Scientist!
This session will explore botanical drawings, focusing on their scientific relevance and how at one time artists were scientists. The session will also explore the artwork and life of Cedric Morris, who created many plants and painted them in unique way.
Session 2 | Paint Together: Create a botanical masterpiece
Join our resident artist to learn about the parts of a flower, how to mix colours and how to create a wonderful flower painting.

Session 3 | Climate Clues: From the past to our future
Using historic images, artwork and extinct plant and animal specimens from Amgueddfa Cymru we will explore the start of climate change. The session will look at the scientific data from the Spring Bulbs for Schools project and discuss what it means.

Session 4 | Contribute to change: Pledge for the Planet
Discuss the Amgueddfa Cymru climate pledge and what museums across Wales are doing to reduce carbon footprint. Participants discuss and create their climate pledges digitally.
