This September Amgueddfa Cymru will be celebrating Adult Learners Week again across all seven of our museums with a diverse programme of opportunities for adult learners.

You will have an opportunity to learn more about the process of documenting, organising and moving thousands of objects, as well as taking a closer look at some interesting artefacts! Slow Looking: An Introduction to Mindfulness in the Art Galleries exploring how we can use art to benefit our mental wellbeing. Booking is essential.
National Museum Cardiff | Welsh Learners Tour | September 18
Join us at National Museum Cardiff for a tour specifically designed for Welsh learners. You will be guided around the art galleries in Welsh where you can build your confidence through conversation with other Welsh speakers and highlighted new vocabulary while exploring Wales’ national art collection. Whether you're just starting out or looking to practice your skills, this tour offers a relaxed and supportive environment to learn and enjoy.

This free tour for blind and visually impaired visitors will be based in the Clore Discovery Centre. It will be an opportunity to spend time in a popular interactive space, find out more about the museum collection at National Museum Cardiff and handle real objects.
1 ticket entitles you to bring an accompanying companion. Please let us know if you intend to do so, or to bring a guide dog or would like a museum guide provided. Booking is essential.

Join artist Vivian Ross-Smith for a textiles workshop that delves into her research surrounding pockets as places of comfort and storytelling. In this session, we will learn from the Museum’s collection of tie-on pockets. Taking inspiration from their decorative stitching and reflecting on our own personal histories of what we hold in our pockets, you will embroider your own textiles piece to take home. Booking is essential.
St Fagans | Welsh Learner Morning | The Vulcan Hotel | September 12, 10:00am-1:00pm
Join us at St Fagans National Museum of History for a morning of conversation for Welsh Learners, where we will be sharing the story of the Vulcan Hotel, exploring its history and the tale of how it came to St Fagans, where it reopened its doors to the public in May 2024. As part of the session, we will be hosting a Vulcan themed quiz in the pub itself, especially tailored for Welsh Learners.
Come along and practice your Welsh, meet others learning the language, discover the Welsh Learners Resources available at St Fagans and find out about other opportunities for Welsh learners.
