Big Pit: National Coal Museum - Come along and experience what life was like working on the coal face and travel 90m in the ‘cage’ to pit bottom with your guide. There’s more to see above ground too in the multi-media tour of a modern coal mine with a virtual miner, historic colliery buildings and exhibitions to explore in the Pithead Baths.

National Slate Museum - The National Slate Museum will be undergoing an exciting transformation from November 2024. Things won’t stop whilst we’re closed! In 2025 we’ll be taking the museum on the road and, working with our partners, we’ll be ‘popping up’ in nearby places, from local attractions to community events.
