Learning Activity
Easter Paper Bowl
Create a unique papier-mâché easter table decorative bowl, inspired by our C13th pot!
You will need:
- Unwanted or recycled paper
- PVA or craft glue
- Materials to decorate your bowl
- We used paint, but you could use marker pens or felt tip pens
- An old bowl
- Scissors
Instructions
1. Tear your paper into small pieces.
2. Inside the bowl, apply a layer of paper pieces, ensuring that you cover the whole area.
3. The first layer will be the outside of the bowl. You can make the paper temporarily cling to the bowl by putting a little water on it. (Do not use glue at this stage as we do not want the first layer of paper to stick to the bowl).
4. You can now start to apply further paper pieces, gluing each layer to the next.
5. The final layer will be the inside of the bowl.
6. Once it is dry, remove your bowl and trim the edge to create a clean line.
7. It is now time to create your easter design!
8. Once finished, apply a final layer of PVA glue to the outside, to seal your design and add strength.
