Create a Renoir masterpiece by using a simple sponge painting technique.

You will need:

• Paper or card
• A sponge
• A mixture of colour paints

Instructions:

1. Apply a mixture of paints on a plate.

2. Using a dry sponge, start applying a small amount of paint, using the lighter colours last. (Renoir used bold combinations of complementary colours and didn’t use black paint!)

3. Use gentle, swift strokes to mimic Renoir’s broken brushstrokes technique.
