Create your own miniature dog portrait inspired by BA Howe’s painting.

You will need:

• Paper
• Coloured pencils (we used brown to create an antique effect)
• A black marker pen
• A side photograph of your dog!

Instructions:

1. Draw a simple circle

2. Sketch an outline of your dog’s head and shoulders. This can be really basic and there is no need for any detail. You are just looking to capture a simple profile.

3. Fill your dog sketch with black marker pen and add earthy tones to the background with coloured pencils to create an antique effect.
