Thermal Kinetic Reactions

Join us for a STEM filled workshop to discover the history and science of coal mine explosions.                                                                                                                     

This workshop will focus on:  

  • Discovering how chemical reactions underground affect safety in coal mines. 
  • Exploring how matter such as gas and dust react to create an explosion.  
  • Demonstrations of dust explosions. 
  • Exploring the historical development of Coalfield in Wales. 
  • Understanding the impact of the Industrial Revolution on Wales.

Ideal for 11 years +
