We have taken the decision to close National Museum Cardiff, the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea and the historic buildings and galleries at St Fagans National Museum of History from Monday 28 September due to the lockdown measures introduced by the Welsh Government in Swansea and Cardiff. The outdoor grounds of St Fagans remain open and free tickets are available to book on the website.

The National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon is also closed to the public until further notice due to the recent lockdown measures in Newport.

Our other national museums remain open to the publicClick on each Museum’s website below for details on how to book a visit. We look forward to seeing you.

We are doing everything we can to keep you and our staff safe, so please consider others and don’t try and visit if you are living in a lock down area, or have any symptoms of COVID-19.

Visitors are required to wear face coverings in indoor spaces at our Museums, in line with Welsh Government guidelines. We reserve the right to refuse entry to those not wearing a face covering without due cause, for example for health and wellbeing reasons.
