Discover how people in Wales built their homes and lived over 2000 years ago. Explore ‘Bryn Eryr’ our Iron Age roundhouse and find out how the roundhouse was made, what Celtic people ate and how they made bread, why it was called the iron age and how they would defend their home.
Interact with objects made of bone, bronze and iron, and try to identify what foods celts ate and what ones they would never have even seen.
The roundhouses are dimly lit, and the environment can be intimidating for those uncomfortable with dark spaces. There is a fire at the centre of the building which creates a strong smell and smoke. Please let us know when you are booking if you have any pupils that would be sensitive to these experiences, and we will do our best to make everyone feel comfortable!
