Create your own fossils at home using a simple salt dough recipe.

You will need:

• One cup of flour
• Half a cup of salt
• Half a cup of cold black coffee
• A mixing bowl
• Small objects such as shells, small toy dinosaurs, leaves, plants or flowers 

Instructions:

1. Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl.

2. Slowly add the coffee bit by bit, until the mixture forms a dough.

3. Knead the dough on a flat surface, until it becomes less sticky and can form a shape.

4. Once you are happy with your mixture, pat pieces of dough into circles. They don’t need to be perfect. In fact, the less perfect they are – the better!

5. When you have a selection of dough circles, chose some interesting objects to place on them. We want to create an imprint.

6. Let them air dry (you could also bake them in the oven on a high heat for 2hrs).

7. Once they are dried, you can decorate them if you wish.
