Join Mrs. Bird as she prepares her household for a traditional Welsh Victorian Christmas in 1851. Assist Mrs. Bird in decorating her Christmas tree, preparing a traditional Christmas pudding and discovering Welsh traditions like the Mari Lwyd.

✏️ Take Part 

This workshop is interactive and pupils help Mrs. Bird with her Christmas preparation's. They will learn about the Victorian origins of Christmas decorations, cards and crackers, during this facilitated workshop.

This session discusses a traditional Christmas in Wales in the Victorian period. Please let us know when you are booking if you have any pupils that would be sensitive to this topic, and we will do our best to make everyone feel comfortable. 

Duration: 1 hour
Dates: November and December 2025
Cost: Led by Museum staff - £40 for up to 15 pupils, £60 for up to 35. Free for some schools (see booking information).
