What was shopping like in Wales in the days before the big supermarkets? Explore the Gwalia Stores, our 1920s local Welsh shop. Discover what products were available to a shopper a century ago and how the money and weighing system was very different from today.

Meet the shop assistant in Gwalia Stores, our 1920s shop. They will help the shop assistant complete their shopping list and compare items from the past with a modern shopping experience.

ℹ️About This Session

Gwalia Stores does not contain any seating area and on certain days can be dimly lit. Please let us know when you are booking if you have any concerns about this experience and we will do our best to make everyone feel comfortable.

Duration: 45 minutes
Cost: Led by Museum staff - £40 for up to 15 pupils, £60 for up to 35. Free for some schools (see booking information).
