Go back in time and hear tales about the trade, booty and the battles of Wales’ most successful buccaneer - Barti Ddu. During this workshop you will meet a Welsh pirate, hear the story of Bartholomew Roberts and pirates from the Golden Age of Piracy. Find out about how sailors became pirates, the jobs they did and the food they ate. Most importantly find out about the truth of a Pirates life.
✏️ Take part
This workshop is led by a costumed facilitator, dressed in a Pirate costume. Pupils will be given have opportunity to handle real objects, such as Pirate swords and pistols.
ℹ️ About this session
Handling objects such as swords and pistols are part of the session, and pupils may also smell spices such as clove and lime juice. Please let us know when you are booking if you have any pupils that would be sensitive to these experiences, and we will do our best to make everyone feel comfortable.
