Introduction: a secondary mineral formed through the surface alteration of bronze artifacts in arid environments and as an uncommon secondary mineral in the oxidation zone of polymetallic deposits.
Occurrence in Wales: a specimen sent to the Natural History Museum by K. Williamson for identification proved to be chalconatronite. The locality details are vague, 'near Anglesey' and unfortunately nothing further is known of this discovery. Therefore chalconatronite should be regarded as unconfirmed from Wales.
