5, 6, 12 & 13 November – Hunting & Gathering. What did people eat in prehistory?

19 November – Do Something Different Session: Prehistory Archaeology. Visit the archaeology galleries and discover the stories behind the objects.

20, 26 & 27 November – Prehistoric Tools & Trinkets. See and handle types of tools used in prehistory.

This gallery will enable you to pick up and examine a selection of our artifacts and, with the help of the experts, have a go at identifying your own collections. Alternatively, if you want to catch up with the latest discoveries in the field of art or archaeology, the Glanely Gallery has a wide variety of sources to help you. It’s packed with state-of-the-art resources as well as being equipped with the humble scissors and glue for that more ‘hands on’ feel.

Gareth Bonello, Biosyb Facilitator at the National Museum Cardiff said:

‘Throughout the month of November, Glanely Gallery will travel back in time and look at Wales during the prehistoric age. Where did people live and what did they eat? Come along and create jewelry made from copper, and discover how our ancestors lived.

National Museum Cardiff is one of seven museums currently operated by Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales. The other sites are Big Pit National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, St Fagans National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea.
