Sample the National Wool Museum

Learn how to design and make a sampler at the National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October under the guidance of popular embroiderer Susan Smith.

Autumn signifies the transition of summer into winter, and with the days getting shorter and cooler, the National Wool Museum is offering an insight into an activity you can do in the comfort of your own home.

The 'Design and Make a Sampler' workshop will be held from 11 am to 4 pm on both days and participants will learn how to make samplers of their favourite pictures, work with lettering and translate their ideas from paper to canvas.

Sally Moss, Curator, National Wool Museum said:

“We are fortunate to welcome back Susan Smith, who proved to be very popular with visitors during her last visit. Samplers make an alternative and meaningful present so if you are already thinking about Christmas and looking for a different gift, why not join us at the end of October and make your own personal present.” For further information about the workshop or to book your place, call Kate Evans on 01559) 370929. The cost of the workshop is £25, which includes some materials and a buffet lunch. Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales operates seven national museums across Wales.
