The workshop, which took pace on Monday 18 May, was designed to introduce little ones to simple sign language.

Using a selection of well-known nursery rhymes and puppets, children enjoyed a fun-filled hour of learning through play.

"Following on from the success of Canu gyda Babi - Sing with Baby, we decided to introduce a new workshop focused on singing using sign language," said Events Officer, Delyth Thomas. "Both myself and Learning Assistant, Kathy Edwards are British Sign Language trained, so we thought it would be an excellent way for us to pass on some of the skills we've learnt."

Helping with the workshop were Ammanford-based company, www.babysignfactory.com who have recently launched Bamba's First Comforts, a baby signing kit that uses simple gestures, allowing babies and toddlers to tell their parents when they are hungry, thirsty or tired.

"We were delighted to be part of the event at the Museum," said company owners Yvonne Miller and Amanda Rees. "It was an excellent opportunity for us to tell people about the kits we produce to help families introduce sign language into everyday communication."
