Win your Place in Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales 2011 Advent Calendar

Children from primary schools in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire are taking part in cartoon workshops at the National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre in January and February to create Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum of Wales’ 2011 advent calendar. Twenty five of the children’s best creations will be chosen and developed into a calendar to be sold throughout Wales.

The workshops, which are all fully booked, will be held by the cartoonist Eric Heyman who’s work ranges from children's book illustrations to caricatures and creating logos. He has already created cartoons for the National Wool Museum that shows the process of turning wool into fabric.

Eric Heyman will inspire the children to create their own cartoons and the final advent calendar will be sold at the seven National Museum sites – from the slate Museum in Llanberis to the Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon. The twenty five best creations will be chosen by Eric Heyman at the end of February.

Joanna Thomas, Education Officer of the National Wool Museum said: “it is a great opportunity for the children participating in these workshops to work with such an experienced cartoonist and to have their work sold in shops across Wales.”
