Amgueddfa Cymru — National Museum Wales displays support for Hilton's National Seafood Fortnight celebrations

Guests checking into a top city hotel will be in for a treat when two chefs bring their sizzling dishes out of the kitchen and into the reception.

The live cooking demonstrations will be held daily between 5pm-7pm over the next two weeks (until 19 September) in the five star Hilton Hotel, in Cardiff city centre, to celebrate National Seafood Fortnight. To complement the hotel's efforts, marine scientists from Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales will be sharing information on sea food and sea life.

Guests will be able to sample some delicious seafood dishes prepared before their eyes to whet their appetites for a special menu on offer at the hotel's celebrated Razzi Restaurant. And thanks to the Museum's contribution will be able to find out more about a range of sea animals, the fishing industry and marine research Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales undertakes.

The aim of the initiative is to encourage visitors and guests to learn about and taste more seafood from sustainable stocks. The event focuses on the importance of having at least two portions of fish every week as they provide important sources of protein, vitamins and minerals.

Admission to Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum sites is free thanks to the support of the Welsh Assembly Government.

Amgueddfa Cymru operates seven national museums across Wales. These are National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans: National History Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Big Pit: National Coal Museum, Blaenafon, National Wool Museum, Dre-fach Felindre, National Slate Museum, Llanberis and the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea.
