Hearts of slate

Hearts of stone to celebrate special days for lovers

With two very romantic days on the horizon - St Dwynwen's Day (25 January) and St Valentine's Day (14 February ) why not make a visit to the National Slate Museum to get an unique gift for your loved one - a handcrafted slate heart?

The slate hearts are unique to the Museum and are made by our demonstrating quarrymen, as Marketing Officer Julie Williams explained:

"Our Quarrymen have been making the slate hearts for a few years now and they are always very popular with visitors as special gifts. They are very versatile and can be used as mini cards, gift tags or even wedding favours. The new larger size available ( 5") can be used as coasters or wall plaques."

And for anyone calling in on St Dwynwen's day itself - 25 January - there will be a free heart-shaped chocolate and a chance to make a romantic card for their loved one and create a mini scrapbook based around the story of St Dwynwen!
