Swashbuckling Fun at the Waterfront

AHOY there me hearties, fancy some swashbuckling fun this weekend?  Then venture down to Swansea's National Waterfront Museum where you'll find a wave of activities taking place as part of the Sea Swansea Festival.

The free, two-day event will kick off on Saturday 20 June at 11am with an exciting programme of summer fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Some of this year's highlights include the Newfoundland rescue dog display, where spectators will see just how these large, loveable dogs put their lifesaving skills to the test.

Don't forget to watch out for the Kipper man, who will be showcasing some extraordinary kipper smoking displays as well as Horaito, a historic Sea Surgeon who will be telling stories from the days of Lord Nelson.

And there's more, including shanty singing, living history time travellers, marine eco awareness activities, circus-inspired workshops and a giant inflatable angel fish.

Speaking about this year's event, Head of Museum, Steph Mastoris said: "We are delighted to be working alongside the City and County of Swansea on the Sea Swansea Festival again this year. It's all set to be a fun-packed weekend, with plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Within the Museum, we're hosting a best dressed pirate competition where you'll have the chance to win a prize, so don't forget to get your costumes on and enter!"

The fun takes place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June from 11am till 5pm.
