FAQ’S Halloween 2025
Is parking available on site?
Yes, limited free parking is available for ticketholders from 4.30pm. We have allocated the ticket sales to the amount of car parking spaces on site. Please try to car share when possible.
Please note that vehicles and belongings are left at the owners’ risk, and we do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents. Please make sure you don't leave anything valuable in your car.
How long is the event?
Doors open at 5.30pm and the event will finish at 9pm.
What time shall I arrive?
Doors open at 5.30pm. The museum will be open to the public until 4pm each day. Please refrain from arriving before 4pm to avoid congestion caused by departing vehicles and visitors.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Spaces are limited and we expect tickets to sell out quickly. Please purchase your ticket in advance from our website to avoid disappointment.
Can I purchase a ticket on the door?
No. All tickets must be purchased in advance from our website.
Will the event be cancelled due to bad weather?
No – the event will continue as planned come rain or shine! Please wear appropriate clothing. We recommend wellies and waterproofs ready to embrace the lovely Welsh weather. Most of the event will be outdoors with some activities inside the buildings which has limited capacity.
Can I swap my date?
Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, therefore we please ask that you make sure you have booked the correct date before going ahead to make the purchase.
Do I need to book a ticket for my baby?
Yes – infants under 2 years old (on the day of the event) will require a free infant ticket. They will not be able to enter the event without a ticket. Please include all infants in your order at the time of booking. Due to capacity limitations, there is no guarantee we’ll be able to add extra infant tickets to your order later.
Can I bring my child in a pram?
Prams and pushchairs are allowed on site but cannot be taken into the historic buildings. These evenings tend to be bustling with many people moving in different directions. Given the narrowness of the walkways and paths, please be patient while pushing your pram around the site.
Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes – they are available near the Main Entrance.
Do you allow fancy dress?
Yes! We encourage you to come along in your fancy dress ready to terrify the visitors at every corner.
Can I bring my dog?
No. Please leave your dogs at home for this event. The site can get very busy and overwhelming for your fur babies.
Are there toilets on site?
Yes, there are toilets on site. Please refer to the map key for location on site.
How accessible is the site?
Dedicated parking spaces for disabled visitors are provided adjacent to the main entrance.
Wheelchairs available on request, free of charge provided on a first come first served basis. Wheelchair access is possible to most parts of the site. However, due to the historic nature of some of the buildings, some access may be difficult.
Changing Places Unit: There are two 'Changing Places’ facilities available including one with an electronic bed and hoist in addition to the toilet and other facilities there. Ask a member of staff for details.
What is your smoking policy?
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not allowed on the main event site.
What do I need to do with my e-tickets?
Please have your e-ticket(s) ready to scan on arrival. We recommend you download and add your tickets to your mobile wallet ahead of arriving at the Museum. All attendees require a ticket, and no additional tickets will be available to purchase on the night. Your e-tickets can be found in your inbox or in your online account here.
What time will the Wicker Man burn?
The Wicker Man will burn at 8.30pm each evening. Head to Cilewent Field, where the ghostly characters will assemble. Participate in the summoning of spirits and make your wish.
How dark will it be?
The site will be adorned with Halloween lights, yet some areas might still be dimly lit. We recommend that you bring a flashlight, just in case! Mini LED torches are available to order with your tickets, with a discount for event ticketholders.
How do I know what’s happening where?
Please ensure you download the map in your pre-event email before your arrival, as the Wi-Fi signal at St Fagans may not be very strong. Additionally, we will provide 'spotter sheets' for the younger ones to use as they search for the ghostly characters.
Are there free carers’ tickets?
Hynt tickets are available for this event. Please ensure you have connected your Hynt card with your Amgueddfa Cymru account to access free tickets for carers and companions through this scheme.
Is the event suitable for neurodivergent people or people with disabilities and/or Additional Learning Needs?
We want this event to be as inclusive and welcoming as possible for all families. Please contact events@museumwales.ac.uk prior to booking your tickets to discuss any accessibility requirements.
We recognise that everyone experiences things like crowds, costumes, sounds, lights, and surprises differently. We can provide a quiet area, a sensory visual map and/or schedule on request to help with expectations and to support a range of needs and comfort levels.
We encourage families or caregivers to use their best judgement based on their individual needs. Please feel free to reach out to speak to the Events team if you have specific concerns or requests.
Will the Wickerman be burned if the weather is bad?
For safety reasons, the Wickerman will not be burned in high winds or other hazardous weather conditions. We closely monitor forecasts and will only proceed when conditions are safe for attendees, staff, and the surrounding area.
