Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival returns to St Fagans

9 June 2022

A firm favourite in Wales foodie calendar, the Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival is set to return to St Fagans National Museum of History on 10 and 11 September with an exciting line-up of the finest local producers, music and lots of family fun.

From pizzas to puddings and pickles, the annual food festival will be live in-person event this year after being a digital event since 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Museum will come alive with over 80 food, drink and craft stalls nestled among the historic buildings. Family friendly activities, from cookery demos in the historic houses to circus skills, will be held in different locations across the museum – plenty to keep the little ones entertained. There’ll be live music including folk, pop and rock, from a host of Welsh talent curated in partnership with BBC Horizons and Tafwyl.

"We’re excited to be returning to St Fagans for the Amgueddfa Cymru Food Festival again this year. The food festival is a highlight of our calendar, and as a local business from Cardiff, it’s great that the museum can host such an array of Welsh food talent.

Sustainability will be at the heart of this year’s event and Amgueddfa Cymru have teamed up with Food Cardiff who will run a ‘Good Food’ activity area to celebrate and raise awareness of Cardiff’s Gold Sustainable Food Places bid. Fareshare Cymru will collect and redistribute surplus food from the event’s stallholders making sure nothing goes to waste.

The Museum will stay open until 6pm on both days, allowing visitors to enjoy a little more of the festival atmosphere into the evening.

Entry to St Fagans is free. Car parking costs £6. See the website for full details Food Festival | National Museum Wales

This event is supported by Food & Drink Wales’ Food Festivals Recovery Fund 2022.
