Our Board Committees

The Board of Trustees is defined in the Charter and Statutes as the authority of the Museum and has established a number of committees in order to help it fulfil its responsibilities.

The Board may delegate any of its functions to any of its committees or Commissioning Groups, Trustees, Directors or Staff.

Board Committees - General Terms of Reference

The Board of Trustees has the following committees:

Planning, Performance and Resources Committee (PPRC)

PPRC is a standing committee of the Board. Its principal role is to advise the Board and to ensure that the Museum’s financial management and controls are exercised in accordance with Museum policy as established by the Board and in accordance with the codes and standards of practice prescribed by Welsh Government, Audit Wales and by professional bodies.

Audit Risk and Assurance Committee (ARAC)

The Audit Risk and Assurance Committee (ARAC) is a standing committee of the Board. Its principal role is to ARAC is a standing committee of the Board. Its principal role is to advise the Board and to support the Accounting Officer on matters of risk, financial stewardship and accountability, control and governance.

Appointments & Remuneration Committee (ARC)

The Appointments & Remuneration Committee (ARC) is a standing committee of the Board. Its principal role is to oversee the process of appointments:

• to the Board by the Board
• of the Director General in consultation with the Welsh Government
• of external and co-opted members to the Museum’s limited companies and the Boards’ Committees, Sub-Committees and Advisory Groups.
