Tickets are available at the ticket desk in the Main Hall with limited tickets remaining. 

 

Set off on your way to search for our bunny friends hiding around the Museum - Get counting - Claim your tasty treat!  

There will be three Egg-citing Challenges to complete!  

1. Get counting…  The hidden bunnies each have a basket of eggs. How many eggs are in their baskets? Write the number in the blank egg on the activity sheet.  

2. Spot the difference…use your powers of deduction to spot the differences between our National Museum Bunnies.  

3. Golden Egg…and for the super detectives, can you spot the extra tiny golden egg hiding at one of the locations?  

£4 per trail - includes a chocolate treat (see below for ingredients)  

 

What do I get?    

A4 full colour trail  

Milk & White Chocolate treat.        
Ingredients: Sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter, cocoa mass    
Emulsifier: soya lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring, e32     
Milk chocolate (Min. cocoa solids 33.7%, min milk solids 22.5%)    
White chocolate (Min. milk solids 23%)

Where do I get the trail?    

Purchase your trails online. 

There are a limited number of trails available per day.  

Trails are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any other day.

Trails are not available to purchase on site.

Please scan your e-ticket with a member of staff to collect your trail and chocolate prize on site.

 

Extra Information    

Language - Trails are bilingual.    

Age - Suitable for age 4+, younger children may need help.    

Cost - Cost includes one trail with one chocolate treat. You are welcome to complete one as a family or buy one for each person.    

The trail is available at all our National Museum sites and is the same at each Museum: National Museum Cardiff, St Fagans National Museum of History, National Waterfront Museum, Big Pit National Coal Museum, National Wool Museum, National Roman Legion Museum, National Slate Museum.    

Trails are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative day or site.

Where possible, we have used eco-friendly display materials and will use these again.  

 

Amgueddfa Cymru  Members get an egg-citing 10% discount on the Big Museum Easter Trail.  

Our family friendly events are supported by the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Opening Hours

Our opening hours are changing for the winter season.

From Tuesday 5 November until 28 February 2025, we will be open 10am – 4pm.

Parking

A Visitor Car Park is situated behind the Museum, off Museum Avenue. Visitors parking here will receive a ticket at the point of entry and need to pay £6.50 for the day at a pay-station located at the rear of the car park. Please note that the pay-stations only accept card payments – no cash payments are accepted. Visitors can use any credit/debit cards (except for American Express), or Apple or Android Pay.

Parking is free to blue badge holders. Please use the intercom at the exit barrier to verify your blue badge permit. Disabled parking is also available at the front of the Museum, on Gorsedd Gardens Road.

Eat, Drink, Shopping

  • The Museum café in the Main Hall is open every day 10am-4pm offering a range of drinks and snacks.
  • The restaurant is open weekends and bank holidays at 11am-3pm.

Accessibility

If you prefer to visit when we’re less crowded, there are usually fewer people on our site from 3pm each day.
